MY HONEST THOUGHTS ON JADE ROLLING + HOW TO USE IT

Let’s talk Jade Rolling.

I know you’ve probably heard about the latest trend that’s been causing quite the stir in the beauty industry.

If you haven’t, girl, let me show you the holy grail you’ve been missing out on.

Ready for the post that may just change your life? Well, read on!

————————-

I have finally purchased my first jade roller at the beginning of this year.

After debating its effectiveness for a while, I pushed myself to click the order button one evening.

Here is the jade roller I purchased. Affordable + effective. Love that combo.

This one is a lower quality and affordable one if you would rather try it out first before investing in a good one!

I have had mine for a while and no complaints so far!

Here is a better quality one that’s a bit pricer.

Golly, my face has not been the same (and hey, in a good way!)

Let me give you the deets:

Here’s what I noticed right away:

+ my face looked more tightened

+ my face looked refreshed & more toned

+ my relentless dark circles appear lighter and my eyes are more lifted.

+ facial bloating (ew) was reduced

Yeah, this tool, works wonders.

If you looked at the tool I purchased, you may have noticed it came with a Gua Sha tool, as well.

Let’s take a look at that too, as well as my experience with it.

Here are the deets of my result using the Gua Sha tool, the day of:

+ soothing & calming

+ glowy face effect (LOVE)

+ helps with dark under eyes

+ helps with LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE. One of my fave attributes of the gua sha tool

+ lifted effect!!

So, what I showed you were my rapid results using these products.

This is what’s reported after using these tools for good.

Incorporate it as your morning or nighttime routine to develop a habit.

I love to jade roll in the morning because it helps me look fab for the rest of the day, but nighttime jade rolling is great for de-stressing and detoxifying for the next day!

Here are the deets of Jade Rolling & Gua Sha as a habit:

+ all of the benefits I listed above

+ detoxifies skin!

+ lymphatic drainage

+ massages skin & keeps it looking young!

+ anti-aging

+ brightens skin

+ looks SUPER gorgeous (obvi)

You might be thinking: “Okay, sure Sara, got the gist. How do I use these two tools though?

Here are the step-by-step deets:

1. Clean + prep your skin & tools. Wash your face + neck how you would normally, and apply your serums + moisturizer.

TOP TIP: The jade roller helps your skin full absorb your products to ensure you reap all the benefits with prevail!

2. With gentle pressure, use the jade roller to role from your clavicle to your jawline, vertically. I start on the right side of my shoulder and move to the left, gradually. I like to roll each area twice or thrice (is that even a word??) before I move on the next area.

3. Use the caved in side of your gua sha to fit snug on one area of your neck and glide it upward, gradually making your way to the top.

4. Be very gentle + careful when you move to you face. Facial skin is delicate and you don’t want to be pulling it!! (Collagen for the win!!) Using the bigger end of the jade roller, start from the jaw line and move up to just underneath your eye. Continue on one side of your face and gradually keep moving on to the other side.

5. Use the caved-in side of the gua sha to slide gently from the tip of your chin, and glide all the way up the jawline. Move from this section to the front of your chin and tilt the tool slightly and work your way up to your ear. Gradually move until you gua sha the rest of your face!

5. Lightly roll the roller on the bridge of your nose & the sinuses.

6. Using the small side of the jade roller, work around the corner of your eyes from inner to outer. Relaxing, huh?

7. You can repeat these steps as much as you please, just make sure to tread lightly!

8. Sanitize and prep your roller & gua sha for tomorrow!

TOP TIP: I love sippin’ on my morning tea while jade rolling on those puffy & lackluster mornings! Read more about the my all-time fave tea on the blog here!

All in all, if you’re like me and suffer the agony of morning puffiness + dark under eyes, this product will be your new best friend.

Some people notice a difference right away, some take time. That’s okay!

I love all the health benefits it comes with: anti-aging, detoxification, & lymphatic drainage! There’s no losing!

  2. Dang it sounds like you had a great experience with the jade roller and gua sha! I don’t notice major differences when using my jade roller, but I do love it for puffy under eyes like you said. I also like rolling my brow muscles when I have tension headaches to release that muscle. I need to try the gua sha!

    1. Hey Jill!
Yeah, the opinions on jade rolling are pretty divergent, haha! Some people swear by it and others just don’t see the big deal.
Ever since quarantine, I’ve been snacking a lot (guilty!) & the increase in sodium has me waking up with a puffy face and eyes. Jade rolling has helped me lower it + I love the cooling effect!
I haven’t even thought about the tension headache thing! That sounds super helpful!
