There’s just something about the strange allure of a mysterious ball gown that I have always found myself drawn to. And, I don’t seem to be the only one who’s fascinated by this effect. Take into account the mystique of Cinderella, you already know it was the magic of her ballgown that completely transformed the rest of her life. And what about the infamous masquerade balls, in which all the attention would be placed on the guests’ gowns instead of their identity?
Black swans are somethin’ else. While white swans are elegant and stunning, they are also pretty common, no offense. Black swans, however, are a rarity. A true diamond in the rough. Not only are they one in a million, but they signify going from victim to victor. They signify a quantum leap in the rising of one’s status. Which is the epitome of Cinderella’s tale.
While creating this look, I loved the powerful statement it exuded. It’s simple, yet has a great pizzazz look to it regarding the heels.
The dress, which is from Zuhair Murad, is referred to as the Off-The-Shoulder Taffeta Gown, and I must say, the minute I saw it I was ENAMORED. I took one look at the price tag of this stunner (a good $3,765) and proceeded to ‘bookmark’ it for later.
So, while this dress is on my to-do list for now, I came across a great & more affordable version to share with you guys. You can find that baby here!

I think the black swan dress is one those dramatic pieces that need to be worn at least once in a lifetime right? As you well said there is an obsession with the gown pieces right now maybe because of the met gala, cinderella and other topics of the pop culture. Obviously I think that the black piece is beyond amazing since it adds a special mystery touch right? I also liked how you picked many nice accessories that also shine for themselves!
