HOW TO GET CLEAR SKIN: FAST, EASY, AND NATURAL WAYS TO ACHIEVE GLOWING HEALTHY SKIN

All my life, I have been a skincare FANATIC. But, I had anything but perfect clear skin. So, throughout my tiresome trek of all the best skincare products, acne treatments, and pretty little serums, I have gathered one umbrella rule that all these other simple hacks fall into.

FROM MY EXPERIENCE, SKIN TENDS TO LOOK IT’S BEST AND HEALTHIEST WHEN YOU START FROM THE INSIDE AND WORK OUT, AS NATURALLY AND SIMPLE AS YOU CAN.

That being said, it’s just a fact that I’ve come to terms with my hassle to get that oh-so desired glass skin. It’s also important to keep in mind that all skin types are different and unique, but these steps are great basic steps to incorporate for pretty much any skin type.

Let’s get to those tips!

// DRINK WATER

Such a simple tip, yet we still find ways to incorporate less and less water in our daily routine. Now, I totally get it, finding time to drink water, as simple as it sounds, is HARD. But, the results are astounding. Water helps flush out those pesky & harmful toxins in your body, which clarifies your skin and ALSO protects your body from those toxins. WIN-WIN!

CLIQUE TIP!: WHAT I DO TO HELP REMIND MYSELF TO DRINK WATER EVERY NOW AND THEN INSTEAD OF ALL AT ONCE IS TO DRINK A TALL GLASS EVERY HOUR ON THE HOUR.

// TAP, TAP, TAP

Honestly, my fave skincare tactic. What I normally do, after cleansing my face and applying some light moisturizer (steal my all time FAVE here, I could rave all day about NIVEA Creme), instead of dragging the product all over my skin, I love tapping it in. This, NOT ONLY does it eliminate harmful pulling on the skin, ergo leading to wrinkles, it also brightens & wakes up your skin and STIMULATES COLLAGEN GROWTH. In the morning, I swear, my face is looking a whole lot brighter, fuller, and more glowy, and I LOVE IT.

// INCORPORATE OILS

This is a big one. I learned the heaps of benefits of applying oils into one’s life at an early age from my mom (thx mom!) I still love bringing natural and healthy oils into my skincare routine as much as I can. Normally, I apply moisturizer before bed as some sort of makeshift night creme and apply a facial oil in the morning and lightly massage it into my skin. (btw, if you don’t massage the oil into your skin, you’ll leave the house looking like a greaseball) Here are two of my favorites:

SWEET ALMOND OIL:

+ all time fave

+ brightens and smoothes complexion

+ reduces appearance of dark spots, stretch marks

+ not to mention, helps eliminate dark circles

ROSE OIL:

+ beautifully moisturizes the skin

+ perfect for sensitive skin

+ improves cell regeneration

+ packed full with vitamin A & C

// USE HOMEMADE MASKS

While the store bought masks are sometimes more convenient and easier, they do tend to normally be a lot more harmful for your skin than applying a homemade mask. What I love about homemade masks is you can mix and match your favorite ingredients and oils and it still works like magic. You don’t really need to strictly follow any rules to see results. I recommend applying a mask 1 or 2 times a week, depending on your skin type. Include some superfoods in as well! Such as avocado, blueberries, & bananas! Here are my favorite ingredients for face masks for clear skin:

YOGURT:

+ contains lactic acid- gentle skin exfoliator

+ brightens skin

+ contains skin-protective probiotics

HONEY:

+ soothing

+ helps keep mask together

+ anti-bacterial

+ clears pores and dirt

+ GLOWY SKIN

CINNAMON:

+ anti-bacterial

+ contains antioxidant properties

+ reduces acne & blemishes

+ DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN

TURMERIC:

+ reduces acne

+ brightens face

+ SUPERFOOD!

// STICK TO A ROUTINE

It’s tempting to want to switch around different products, masks, techniques, and tools when it comes to figuring out which routine is optimal for your skin, but I find that things work best if you find a routine and stick with it. Sometimes, we try something for a week, experience no result and then give up, but clear skin takes a bit of time. Around 1-3 months to be exact. That’s because your skin needs time to adapt and regenerate. During the dreaded waiting period between you and your newly glowing skin, make sure that your diet consists of whole and natural foods (inside working out), drinking plenty of water (try fruit infused water for added flavor and health benefits!)

  5. Hello Sara, I hope you had a lovely week!

    Thanks for all the useful tips! I like that many of them are really easy to follow and you don’t have to spend money…. like the “tap tap tap” method which is very useful, also with the toner to hydrate even more and of course drinking water, which could be even better if you combine it with good sleeping.

    Thanks also for the mask recommendations, sometimes they could be expensive so these options could work if you’re on a budget πŸ™‚

    Have a great weekend!
